You can also reach Prati di Tivo (Gran Sasso d'Italia), in 45 minutes if you like winter sports. The name of community is Pagliaroli which is part of Cortino (970 meters above sea level). It is a mountain plateau measuring 2 km by 0,4 km surrounded by forests. It is exciting to see the mountains and the sea from your windows. Pagliaroli has a small market, a restaurant with rooms, two farm holidays a nineteenth century stone roman catholic churc, a school, a part time chemist and the municipality of Cortino.
